I was able to learn something new by reading “The Psychological Comforts of Storytelling” by Cody C. Delistraty. I learned what the term, “escapism” means. Escapism is when entertainment could make people feel better, but there is a deeper meaning behind the story that is being told. I absolutely love this term because it is relatable and true. Stories have meanings, plots, characters, settings, conflicts, and plot(s). Just like our lives. As we grow up, stories could become more valuable to us as we continue with our lives. We could reflect on those stories that have life lessons and understand different scenario’s conflicts and conclusions.
